Beverly Sills, one of America's greatest operatic sopranos, in one of her earliest televised performances. She performs an aria from the 20th century opera The Ballad of Baby Doe. It is a fiendishly difficult aria that sounds deceptively simple--at least Sills makes it seem so. The composer, Douglas Moore, introduces the performance.
